Course Overview
Intermediate Squad is where participants use own boat or hire a boat

NOTE:

• Participants in this course must also be an AYC member either as a Senior Member, Junior Member or part of a family membership.
• A Senior that has recently completed a Sailing 1&2 course is eligible for complimentary half season members
• Opti's are not permitted to sail in this group.
• Hire of boat is permitted for up to 12 months (Pacer $150 for half season).
• There is a limit of 3 club Pacer's available for hire of this course. If you require a Pacer to Hire please contact training to arrange.

Course Prerequisites

• must be able to swim independantly without assistance
• Juniors that have completed a previous green fleet course , or senior that has completed a Sailing 1&2 course
• Skills, knowledge and experience gained in Junior Green Fleet or Sailing 1&2.

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for participants who have completed Junior Green Fleet or Sailing 1&2.

Course Outcome

By the end of the Intermediate Squad Training course, the participants will be able to participate confidently in AYC club Racing

Program Focus:

Following the structure and instruction in learn-to-sail programs. Green Fleet is an introduction to coaching and learning to train.

Green Fleet promotes practicing the fundamental skills of sailing, introduces some foundation race skills through training activities in an environment that is enjoyable, without a competition focus.

During the Program sailors are encouraged to take part in freesail activity, and to trial a variety of boats, boards, and other club related activity through age appropriate design.
